Blind Vision is the Winner of the prestigious, “U.K. Songwriting Contest 2016” in the Adult Contemporary category

Covering a wide span of musical influences from Portuguese Pop/Folk to mainstream Pop, AC and Country, my co-writes include collaborations with New York writers such as award-winning songwriter, Wendy Parr and Los Angeles songwriters at SonicArt Productions and WurleyBack Publishing.

I've been playing in various bands since my teens, the guitar being my primary instrument for writing as well as performing. I've played in all sorts of places and spaces including high places like the Embassy of Portugal in India and on RDPi (Radio Portugal International).

Of Portuguese descent, I live in Daman (Damão), a former Portuguese enclave on the western shores of India, which became part of India as recently as 1961. Hence, there is a strong Portuguese influence in its culture. It is in this unique multiracial, multicultural and multilingual environment that I grew up in. It is therefore quite natural that I am a bilingual singer, singing both in Portuguese and in English. However, I write only in English but am open to writing in my local Portuguese dialect.

I write my songs in my colonial villa, in a 16th century fort – a setting that  never fails to inspire me in writing engaging lyrics and sticky melodies.

Blind Vision is a light song with more of a mainstream pop feel but its lyric deals with a profound and thoughtful issue that works surprisingly well in contrast to the lightness of the melody and arrangement.”
